Can't select "high" on graphic settings

Cod4 only detects that I have 1gb of ram (I have 2gb) therefore it doesn't allow me to select the "high" settings for Water Detail and Model Detail.

I used to have 768mb of ram before christmas and in my COD4 config file it knew that.

Now I have 2gb of ram and it only detects 1gb in the config, and therefore it doesn't allow me to select the "high" settings for Water Detail and Model Detail.

If anyone knows a way of forcing the graphics to run on high settings then please help me.

    Try deleting your config files and/or reinstalling.

    I have already reinstalled but i will mess around with deleting the config (with a backup, of course).

    There are no "High" settings for this. Only normal/middle(?).

    That still doesnt explain why it only says i have 1gb of ram.

    Strange...you think there would be a high option seeing as it goes low>normal>(and you expect a high option)

    Right ok, I thought it would be one of those things where it disables the setting if your pc cant handle it.
